It seems like a comic book hero he was introduced as a Captain and then suddenly a few pages later he proclaimed himself a Colonel. Maybe he was promoted for the mission.

Bacca here....I'm the super hero...didn't you see my picture???? I know I look like one!

Me thinks, the Colonel and me should have a chat....and maybe we need something like humans call an "election".....I think I should be General. He can still be Colonel but reports to ME!
