Beaver dog

So Cleo is now 7 months old. She has all her adult teeth in. But for some reason she is chewing more on everything than she was when she was teething! How do I stop this problem? I know it is partly my kids fault (leaving toys on the floor), but she is chewing on the dining chairs like a beaver and it is getting ridiculous...

She has plenty of chewing toys, a calf hoof, deer antler, pig ear, and bully stick. I'm at a loss.

Brittany, my Simba was (and still is at 7 years old) a dedicated chewer of anything wooden. The only thing I have found that keeps our chair legs, table legs, door jams, window sills, etc. safe is to routinely spray them with bitter apple. Thankfully he hates the taste of bitter apple (some dogs don't seem to mind it) and it solves the problem. If you haven't already tried it, it might be worth trying.

Cubby became a beaver too. He improved but there are still a couple things he likes to try to chew.

Savannah is, was, and will always be my beaver...she likes fence posts...why I haven't a clue...She was a hard teether, gave her everything to save her from chewing on stuff in the house. It was guard duty trying to swap out stuff for her. She still got a few items, but whadaya do? My previous one decided one day to chew an antique table leg...never showed much interest in chewing after puppyhood, but I guess she decided to act up years later. Now that she has passed, I look at that table and smile because she didn't chew up anything else-and it reminds me of my loss...crazy, huh. Bitter apple works very well, but there are exceptions. be diligent, let them know chewing isn't allowed and keep everything you think might be a target away from. That is what I do with Savannah, she doesn't have free access like Kaleigh does. Kaleigh wasn't/isn't a destroyer...Savannah, shows no sign of really changing.
