The only way around this is to continuously throw them off schedule, methinks, and train them to deal with it.
I do this with my guys from tiny pups. I mean I don't stress them out to the point that they would have a break down but I do push them to the edge and just beyond their comfort zone quite often and schedules mean nothing around here(side effect of my job over the years). The rest is just training and getting use to it. My dogs do quite a good job , but they still have had moods(ie Diva in the horse arena a couple weeks ago) over the years.
We didn't have Jaime from a small puppy but at 6 months and when we first took him to conformation class he growled at the "Judge" and the other dogs in the class. He never did it again though, He was just freaked out from the new sights and sounds. I bet Beckon will do better the more things he does.
