Beginner Agility Book Recommendations

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good book (or books) for beginners? Looking on CleanRun, there are soooo many books! I know that our trainer uses Linda Mecklenburg techniques, so I might buy her Handling Skills book. The trainer also spent the summer training with Ann Braue in Wisconson, if that gives a little insight into her training. I'm not looking for anything specific, just foundations and basics. I will probably email our trainer and ask for her recommendations as well, but I just wanted to see if anyone here had any recommendations. I already have Control Unleashed.

Since you are using Lindas methods I would buy Lindas developing jumping skills and developing handling skills. Also Mary Ellen Barrys foundation dvd set and Silvia Trmans dvds can work well with the system.

I would second the LM books. She has DVDs as well if you learn better that way.

The trainer recommended the Linda Mecklenburg Developing Jumping Skills book, and Agility Right from the Start by Eva Bertilsson & Emelie Johnson Vegh. I'll probably put both on my birthday/Christmas list...

I am a visual person and reading which leg goes where just does not cut it for me, I need to see it. This said I do have Linda books but also have DVD, there are several of them.
Awesomepaws also offers online classes now and you can get self guided Jumping course anytime. It is not cheap but it works through the problems regular local class does not have ability to cover unless you take privates.

Just food for the thought for the future.

Forgot to add that all info you will be buying whether DVD or books are dated, so this is something to keep in mind, agility sport is moving and developing. When I think that 3 years ago my local trainer was trying to introduce international handling and people were huffing and puffing objecting and look what is happening now...
The basic stuff will be still the same, but some jumping got revamped, attempting to relate to need to have tighter cues and some handling is changing...

I have "Agility Training for You and Your Dog" by Ali Canova. It's basically like an agility training book for dummies. It included obedience training, flat work, the equipment, jump drills. It was helpful to me when I knew nothing.

So I ended up getting Agility Right from the Start by Eva Bertilsson & Emelie Johnson Vegh for my birthday and then a couple other books I bought that aren't specifically agility-

Fired Up Frantic and Freaked Out by Laura VanArendonk Baugh
Control Unleashed by Leslie McDevitt
Click Your Way to Rally Obedience by Pamela Dennison

I don't plan on doing Rally, but I was hoping I could take some of the skills and apply them to general obedience. Missy is well behaved, in general, but I think there's always room for improvement! I already had Control Unleashed in the Kindle format, but I didn't like reading it that way.. I would prefer to physically flip through it. So I bought the paperback copy.

So now I have quite a bit of reading to do! I may add on to my collection later, but I would like to read what I have first.
