Behavioral benefits of RAW?

Ever since I gave Phebe a couple of RAW meals last weekend, it seems like she's listening better to me. She's obeying down commands from a distance. We've been working on directional signals in Agility, and even had a breakthrough there. Left was pretty easy for her, but this little dog that spins left to go right is now wrapping to the right on a jump.

Maybe it's just a coincidence.

Maybe it's all in my head.

Maybe it's the heat.

Maybe it's another stage of growing up.

OR, maybe it's because she has decided that if I can give her fresh kill, it's worth her while to listen to me. :winkgrin:
 
I have heard of behavioral differences. Mostly though it's like taking kids off of sugar and feeding them veggies and healthy food. They are calmer, have better focus, aren't up all night bouncing off the walls. I didn't notice a huge difference, but my guys were reasonable to begin with.

Or it could be that it's so freaking hot and its too much work to go left to go right. : )
 
Haha I don't know. I noticed Ember got more active and more muscular. I'm guessing that is because of the higher protein. She was not on preformance food like the other 2. However, now she has gotten alittle heavy and I lost what I gained.:( Less skin now.

Diva calmed down but I thought that was mostly age somewhat. I think she was about the same age Phebe is now. 15 months. Many a dog's brain comes in the mail around that time:wink2:.

Justice, I noticed not a darn thing other than his teeth got so much better.:smile2:

Woo-hoo! Only another month until Smudge's arrives in the mail, then! :lol: Maybe they will spend it special delievery with a rush rush stamp.

I am so much hoping that this is the case with Phebe. I took her in for her
Rabies, etc. (I know, I know -- the vet talked me into waiting until next year to do titers for some of this) -- any way, the vet wanted me to schedule a dental cleaning ($350+++). I brush her teeth several times a week and still she has tartar build up. :o

I got a 2nd opinion from another vet, who said to take photos, keep doing what I'm doing and if it doesn't improve in 2 months, then get a cleaning. I'm hoping that feeding raw all the time and even more brushing will make a dent.

And, I swear, she's so much better as far as attention goes.

With my boy Justice, his brain came in the mail just fine by 12 months and then a part blew out around 18months. It was still under warranty so we send for a replacement part and he was good to go again by 2yrs. The reason I was giving from the manufacturer was testosterone poisoning. :wink2:

Spare a thought for lab owners, our mutts don't get their brain delivery until they are 3 or 4, that's if they are delivered at all:rolleyes2:

However, I can attest to the benefits of RAW both mental and physical and I would now never go back to feeding commercial food.
