Beware of Boxes

There are posts making the rounds on Facebook and elsewhere that FedEx, UPS and perhaps Amazon are spraying their boxes with something to prevent COVID that is making dogs sick. Some have died. I assume those who were seriously ill ingested some of the boxes since we know dogs like to chew on them. Other posts claim this is a hoax, but a friend of mine personally knows three dogs who live near her that have gotten sick this way.

Bottom line, true or not, I'll be moving all boxes out of the house as soon as I unpack them rather than letting the dogs noodle at them as I know many people do. I'm sharing this warning just in case. Better safe!

I'd be more worried about the cats - they literally chew through boxes for fun. And cats are much more sensitive to toxins.

Although I'd err on the side of it being a hoax as I can't think of anything toxic that they would spray on the boxes that would not also affect the people handling the boxes.
