My most recent success was getting the trash out from under the sink and replacing the bag w/o Lexi attacking it. She's 6....
Wow, that is impressive. Fluffing the garbage bag is one of the things I figure I'll never be able to stop, how did you manage?
I know! Tully knows all of Deska's triggers. Once she chimes in it's like I have a pack of wild animals! It's really embarrassing when we're in public or in the car.
Lol - that's funny, I was really slow to get the message.
Having to work on his reactive barking a lot lately because he has hurt Tully a couple of times. Atm we're working on not barking when the cats come to the front door and not barking in the car (that may be a lost cause).
Our last sheltie made the trip Alberta to Ontario & back with us many times. She was gold in motels ( never barked) and in the car she was awesome except when a transport when by. She used to watch for them and give just one really loud bark as they passed us (practically gave herself whiplash tracking them past ). Never managed to break her of that, but she seemed to have so much fun with it that we actually just ignored her and sometimes would tell her when one was coming.

Sigh....I can't water the single plant in my house without Indy going bananas. I even tried using a different water container, but as soon as I go near the plant, he goes wild! It's always been that way....not this particular plant....any plant!

Helping fluff the garbage bag is just one of Shelby's chores! She must help me every time (so did Hollie). Shelby will jump so high to get the bag it is unbelievable. But she has never grabbed it or put a hole in it.
Now if I could put some WD40 on the neighborhood kids when they are playing in front of my house maybe she will stop barking at them

That sounds like Tully - except she doesn't settle for one bark and she is definitely incurable (must video her some time - she is insane). If I had someone with me driving to interstate comps we'd pack all our stuff around her so she couldn't see out the window, otherwise I put her on the front passenger side floor. Deska only barks because of her, so I'm hoping to at least stop him. It's gotten that people hear us long before we arrive anywhere because of the insane barking from 2 shelties, and my ears hurt.
Does it do it when you water outside too or is it just pots? I lose so many plants every summer because I give up trying to water with a sheltie attacking the hose.

I am glad someone is getting answers to barking. Chauncey has been with me
one year now. I take him most anywhere, no doctor appt or grocery shopping. I do take him with me when we go out to eat as we choose outdoor dining so he can come along. He is really so well behaved I love it. Lately he has been barking alot. WHen the door bell rings I use to yell quiet and he would stop, now he barks and barks non stop even while we are answering the door. He wont stop. He was barking when the phone ringed then he stopped and now he started again. I picked him up from the groomers and she said he was very aggressive and tried to eat her while she was grooming him which he never did in the past. When he saw me come in he started barking non stop. I don't know why he is turning into a barker at 6 years old and wont stop when I tell him to? I loved that he wasn't a barker , now I am being driven mad, the cats were all fine around him, now they run when he starts his barking. I don't know why, what or how to get him to not bark so much.? Any advice?
He is so well behaved in all areas, we don't even crate him really anymore, he can go in if he wants but no one makes him. He has free roam of the house and never gets into anything. I know he is truly a blessing in our lives but the barking is annoying, especially when he spent the last year not barking so much.
