Birthday Girl Makes a New Friend

Happy Birthday Honey! I was just going to ask what happened with her feathered friend . How cute that he wanted Honey to feed him!

She found another freathered friend sticking to the side of one of our trees yesterday. She was sniffing it very nicely when it flew off the tree straight at her face. This one was just the size of her ball and her catching instincts kicked in. :eek2:

She was very good however and dropped the little birdy immediately, and she apparently didn't clamp down at all, because it was uninjured and hopped back onto it's spot on the tree.

Honey is now officially fascinated by these creatures, while we were on our walk today and coming out of the park she heard and smelled a little one in its nest. She ran to the tree and sniffed all around, than she stood up on it so she could get as close to the nest as possible and sniff. Than she very politely sat down with a wagging tail for a good three minutes, giving a periodic huffy little woof, and staring up at the nest, waiting for the new friend to come say hello. :rolleyes2:

Needless to say the bird was not very interested in doing so and I eventually had to drag her away, much to her dismay.

Oh! Honey is so sweet! Jody and Ida love to chase pigeons around the yard. Jody has had feathers in his mouth many times. He love to jump up and snap at their tails as they are flying away, but he has never hurt one, it's all for show. Ida likes to pounce on them then jump off. It's like they'er competing to see who's the better bird catcher! F-kap doesn't like it though, he will herd the other dogs to try to keep 'his' birds safe.

Lol, oh well done F-kap, its good that they have a protector when Jody and Ida are such feirce competitors! And Jody and Ida, you must be very talented to have caught a bird. I don't think Honey's ever even come close to getting a flying one!
I almost want to get Honey some chickens, just so she has birds that she can herd and which are used to her.

one time we had a robins nest near the roof of our back porch. I just happened to be on the porch with Miley who was out in the yard . The little Robin picked that moment to try to fly out of the nest. Well of course it landed on the ground right by Miley :gaah I nearly killed myself getting down the porch steps to that poor little bird...I was so afraid Miley would harm it. When I got to it she was rolling it around with her nose:rolleyes2: NOT A BALL!!!! When I finally got her away from it, it hopped through our fence to the neighbors yard. Mama bird was NOT happy
