bladder worms

Well, when my vet told me some years ago that my dogs got "odd" things wrong with them, she wasn't kidding. Now a routine UA shows Randy has bladder worms (Lung Worms-Capillaris Plica). He supposedly got them from eating Earth Worm dung. He does eat at the ground a lot. Anyone have any experience with bladder worms?

I didn't know dogs got worms in their bladder. Justice had Capillaris aerophilia(lungworms) when he was 1.5yr. He had a cough and gagged alot. He was on liquid panacur for 28 days. Fun not:no: Is that what Randy was put on? Did he have any signs?

Randy is on Panacur granules. He takes that for three days. These "lung" worms aren't in his lungs. I guess they are a cousin to those that go to the lungs. He doesn't have a respiratory symptoms.

Okay, that's a new one. Never heard of bladder worms - but I guess there must be all sorts of worms. My dogs eat dirt and dung alot so they get wormed every 3 months. I wonder if the canax helps prevent bladder worms, I know it didnt stop Deska's gastro last month from eating dirt.

I never heard of this either but it's good information to have "just in case". You never know what these guys will eat.

Earth Worm dung? Are you serious? How crazy! :eek2: Just when you think you've seen/heard it all! I wonder if people could get them? Like maybe if a kid was playing in the dirt and didn't wash their hands before they ate? :confused2:
