Denamarin actually contains Silymarin, which is the active ingredient in milk thistle.
This is a good example of refuting the claim that traditional medicine has no respect for alternative, herbal, 'natural' remedies. Milk thistle had been used by alternative practitioners for some time, but when its value in liver disease was appreciated it was adopted by traditional veterinarians and is now a staple.
Some would argue that milk thistle is an herb and silymarin is a chemical, but they are actually identical from a biological standpoint as far as liver support goes.
