Thanks! We're rather fond of her and get lots of comments about her unique looks when we take her somewhere.

My Callie is a sable (yes, I know, they don't have blue eyes), but her right eye is blue and her left eye is dark brown. She's also not traditionally sable colored and has more white on her face than normal.

if she has a blue eye, then it is likely that Callie is a sable merle.....
if you have pix of her as a very small puppy, she might have had some lighter/darker patches that would indicate the merling.

do you have any pix that show her body?

Hmmm. Here's one of her as a puppy -- about 3 months old.

As she gets older, the areas of her fur that aren't white are becoming more and more red-tinged, if anything, with streaks of black. My daughter owns her sister, who is a tri-color. The breeder stoutly maintains that there are no merles in her pedigree at all, but I've always wondered about that statement, given the blue eye.

Beau appears to be sable but the upper left side of his left eye is blue, he also has a blue fleck in his right eye but it isn't very noticeable.
Does his blue eye mean he is a merle?
It's hard to tell from the photos but he has silvery hairs on his ears and compared to his 7 litter mates he is very light in colour with barely any black. He was also the only one of the 8 to have pink pigment on his nose. Mind you it has already shrunk in size so I expect it may fully fill in eventually.

Can not vote again but Fox has a fleck of blue in one of his eyes. On the right eye lower part.

Didn't vote since not a sheltie - but my blue merle aussie male had bottom 1/2 of right eye light blue and rest of eye and other eye entirely brown.
