Not uncommon with breeders and from the ones I know if they rehome one they are VERY particular on the home they go to.That's so sad, I hate hearing about Shelties needing rehomed

I believe the breeder is looking at downsizing her dogs. Nothing wrong with that. They’re very particular where they go.That's so sad, I hate hearing about Shelties needing rehomed

Just an FYI…this breeder is located in the Minneapolis area for anyone who might be interested.

We had a forum member from that area who worked closely with a breeder in that area. I tried to get a puppy from them but the stars never aligned (Spitfire came along and made things hard

Not yet. I think number three will happen when I retire in TN. Spitfire is getting very old and Ian will need a buddy. Plus in the meantime Spitfire would have a minian and a minion to boss around (he was antagonizing Ian this morning) in between naps.

I'm way to far away but I will say I've met some amazing breeders who were rehoming dogs when we found Annie many years back. I had never heard about the practice but when Sheltie rescue was a dead end someone here I believe suggested looking for breeders looking for homes. There are a variety of reasons why the dogs are looking for placement. Annie had been bred for showing but bless my sweet heart she has no focus and the ring was not going to be her future. The breeder took her through her spay and then placed her with us. It was an amazing gift for us and allowed the breeder to have a space for a dog she would use in her breeding practice as she wouldn't breed a dog that didn't have the characteristics required.

4 out of 7 for us are/were re-homed from breeders - too big, didn't like to show, ears didn't stay tipped - minor things but unable to show them, so placed with us, win-win!
