But its a toy!

And to think? I pay for it at the store. :rolleyes2:

I have them givin to me by some good freinds that are avid hunters. I use deer antlers as embellishments on gourds. Most often I take the antler and weave it right on the rim of the gourd.

Wow that is very nice. You are very talented.:smile2:

Thank you~ It is fun working with a bit of mother nature,as gourds are never really beautiful and perfect. Especially so when just harvested,as they are covered in mold.

And the deer antlers, well they go every which way & that,so its a matter of finding the gourd, that they look the best on.

The natural mottling of the gourd, is from the gourd laying on the ground, and the dirt was imprinted as the gourd matured.

It looked like a deer to me,so I added some leather dye,and the mottling was enhanced even more. I just added a bit of pyro work to help it along.

Puppies went out this morning for a call of nature. We have a glass bac k door so can keep an eye on them a little. Darby comes back in and heads up stairs to the warm bed. He's a wimp..

Dejas comes floating up the stairs and stops in the middle of the porch looking at something small, round and white. It's a chunk of snow..

I see her eyeing it and watch her.. she sees me seeing her.. she bends down trying to pick itup.. "Deja, Leave it.."
She bounces slightly at my voice but continues to worry at it. It must be attached to the ice on the deck..
"Deja... I said leave it!" I start to get up..
Deja starts working harder..she knows the wonderous new toy will come free but will it be in time?! Her eyes are locked on me as she furiously tugs on the clump.
"No! that's just snow!! Leave it!!"
Sucess! It pops free and with a single pounce she is inside running around with a snowball in her mouth..

God really does make the funnest toys!

Yes! Nature is full of the best Sheltie toys, lol. My dogs love deer antlers, sticks, jumping in leaves, hopping in the snow, throwing icicles down the back steps, etc.

Great thread!
