Barb couldn't have said it better. Thank you Kelly, for making this forum possible and for doing all that you do. The sheltie nation forums play a huge role in my life, I don't know what I'd do without my sheltie nation friends. And thank you to the moderators for your efforts and dedication too.

must say that I hadn't noticed the change down to one hour for editing. but I'm sure if I did want to edit something that I posted after that, I'd quote my original post and then fix whatever below it in new post 
I am very happy that we don't all have to pay to get the great benefits that we have here and while it may take me a while to catch up when I'm not online every day (like last weekend when working my club's agility trial), I do read every post
I also spend time with Who's Online and I have noticed that people sometimes edit a post but then I can never tell what was changed and then sometimes it just says replying to thread- I guess that's the premium chat section

Its comments like this when I really wish the forum software gave you the ability to hit a 'Like' button like Facebook. Oh well, you can't have everything.

Click on "Rate Thread" in the blue toolbar at the top of any page of the thread. It is just below the top banner ad.

Thanks Kelly, I've done that when I like a thread, I meant more for individual comments. I'm an FB addict in additon to being a Sheltie Nation addict so I've started thinking in terms of 'Like' and 'Dislike' now, lol.

Obviously I am new here; but I would like to say I think this site, the mods and admins are fantastic, well monitored and completely fair. (rules and all). There is another site that I frequent (for about 10 yrs now) that is not related to animals at all (well the people can be animals LOL)…it is a career industry site.
Sheltie nation is refreshing, kind people and so far I have not seen rude back and forth posts which just degrades any site and is not nice! I admire the dedication of the mods and admins that have the stamina to read every post. Heck, I sometimes post and then can’t remember where I posted or what I posted LOL.
The other site I go to, although it is very informative “career wise” and over the years I have made many friends that I network with, we support one another and many of us have become very close friends via phone (and have met some in person) despite being states away. However it is troll city over there and one must be careful whom they decide to communicate with on a personal level because there IS a lot of ugliness, trolls and people that wreak havoc on the site and diminish the fun and information for others (anonymous posts are allowed there as well as registered posters).
The only thing I wish Sheltie Nation had would be a live chat forum for registered posters only of course. The other site has it which does allow real time communication, but also allows anons there as well, which again is undesirable.
As far as the cost to be part of Sheltie Nation; I have no problem with it and I think it is extremely reasonable. I do wish I could figure out HOW to post pictures of my fur clan!
Sheltie Nation has my thumbs UP and clicking on the “like” button.

Thanks for your post. Again, it is refreshing for us to hear that our hard work at keeping away trolls and moderating the site is acknowledged. I do agree that this place has always been a refreshing, informative and fun place to be. Your post is appreciated.
In regards to a chat forum, I will direct Kelly to this post and let her comment on if that could be an option for the site. I know that Kelly is always open and willing to make any changes that will make this site better. Have a chat forum is something that could be another "perk" for premium members.
In regards to uploading pictures when you are a premium member. If you would like to add a picture to a post, look below the box where you are typing, underneath the post icons where there is a white box that says "additional options." In that box there is a choice for "manage attachments." Click on that and it will direct you on how to browse and upload your pictures.
If you would like to creat a photo album with your user id, you can go to your User control panel, upper left of the blue bar on top. Once there, you can click on the pictures and albums, and add an album. Here is a link with the directions:

I think a "prominent" Like button like facebook would be awesome!
I often read a thread, have nothing to add but would like to acknowledge that I read it and appreciated the poster's input. But I don't really need to see who else "liked" it unless its my own.
I think a Like button would cut down on alot of the New posts that we find overwhelming to stay on top of.
Maybe Rate the Thread would work as an alternative. I'll have to try it.
