We've got a big pear tree in our back yard that produces literally hundreds of pounds of pears every summer. This, of course is a squirrel magnet, and I've seen Dickens lying in wait for them on the porch, and chasing them when he thinks the opportunity is there. I couldn't image this gentle little dog, who still has the small cloth toys he got as a pup, would actually harm another creature, but a few weeks ago I watched him actually get his choppers on a terrified squirrel, which just barely made it up the tree. I guess they're all killers deep inside, although some are better at it than others!
