Celtic goes to school

We had another good night last night.

First we introduced the dumbell. Step 1 touch the bar, step 2 move it around and touch anywhere. Not too hard for week 1.

Next was heeling 4-5 steps with heads up and the sit straight and skip sits which are 1 step sit working on speed of the sit.

We then work more on hind end awareness-moving right and left in front of us, backing up and more on core building exercises-sit up and stand up on hind legs. Celtic is getting so strong he can go up into a stand on his hindlegs from a sit and then down almost perfectly into a sit.

After we got them backing up we started to intrroduced the fold back down. Celtic got that right away now just need to work on speed and voice control of that command.

Celtic started to get quite tired at this point. He said his little 6 month old brain was fading. Luckily we switch on restranted recalls. That woke him right up. He was a maniac and was kicking and wiggling to get my instructors to let him loose when I called him. A collie accidently bounced on leash out into his path the first time and he gave her a side way glance and swared around her right to me. I was so proud. 30 ft recal and top speed. :smile2:

The night ended with the agility tunnel. Some of the pupies had done it before and most had not. Celtic got to demo it. I walked him up to it and he immediately started pulling towards it and flew though it when I said tunnel and let him go. It was a nice way to end the night on a mental high for him.

lots more things to practice. Can't wait for next week.

Celtic sounds like he's at the top of the class--what a super puppy.

The class sounds like fun, with lots of good homework.

We have a trainer in the area who does a Star Puppy class--it's an AKC format, I think.

Might it be similar to Super Puppy class?
