Changing to raw for coat health

Hi everyone,
I have 2 shelties Pippi is 5 and a half and Obi is 2 and a half.
I am noticing lately that Obi's coat is nothing like Pips was at the same age and am wondering if it is diet related. I currently feed Black hawk.
Obis coat seems to be a lot shorter and coarser than Pippis.
I will attach a photo to show what I mean.

different sheltie lines get their full coat at different ages..... food does play a role but mostly genetics....
I know several people here have said 3 yrs to get the full adult coat.
my one boy has undercoat but no real length on his outer coat- he's probably close to 5 yrs there.
and another boy has a nice coat- he's about 2 here...
no recent pix- I really need to get the camera out.............

I agree with Calliesmom, genetics has a lot to do with it. These are my two boys Finnie (2) and Piper is 5. Piper has been fed a raw diet since he was 2 but he had a full coat by the time he was 9 months old (when he was still fed kibble). Finnie has been fed a raw diet since a pup but at 2 he still doesn't have a full coat (on a side note Piper didn't have his complete adult coat/colouring until he was 3) and he and Piper are related (Finnie's sire is Piper's brother). Diet can help no doubt about it and don't be afraid to try adding or starting a different food but food alone isn't necessarily going to improve the coat.
If your interested in trying a raw diet check out the barf, raw and natural diets section...lots of good information there.IMG_0105.JPG IMG_0180.JPG

Yes a lot is genetics. Our little Ally did not get her full coat until 3. Elijah's coat has definitely changed and darkened over the last year, from age 2 - 3.
PS when I clicked your links it came up blank - could not see photos.
