chasing tail

puppies tend to do it more than say a 3 year old...I think it has alot to do with their crazy engery! I know every once and awhile Noah will notice his tail and go hey whats this thing??! Lets chase it! and than its followed by the zoomies because the cant quite get it!! My 2 year old every few months will do it but no where near as much as when she was younger. Its like the grow out of it...
As long as he isnt hurting himself I would say its fine...of course if hes doing it for hours on end I would say hes bored and needs to activity and or toys..

I was just thinking Ember only chases her tail anymorewhen she bored. For example, shes on lead and I stop to talk to someone, if I've been standing there too long , Ember will suddenly chase her tail. Its like she needs to release some energy.

So funny, all these cute little stories about our furkids chasing tails! It's even funnier when they pass gas and are so curious about what they just did, and they walk around inspecting trying to figure things out, .

Megan hasnt done that YET, but I know she will. Our beloved Golden sure did and our cat does.

Aonghus chases his tail all the time and he does the sheltie spin, He is 13 months old and I just chalk it up to an over abundance of energy . . . boy I wish he would share some of that energy with me sometimes!!!!

Bacca chases his tail all the time...normally spontaneously! All of a sudden, its like something bit his butt, and he gets up and starts to spin. I've been trying to train him to do this at my command, with limited success.

Indy never spins. He's got a Danny Devito body and he couldn't hope to touch his nose to his tail! So he just looks at me when Bacca's twirling, saying "Whattttt?!"

I trained Bailey do it on command. I say "spin" and she chases her tail. It was really simple I caught her doing it one day, so I said "spin" and twirled my finger in a spin motion with a treat. I kept saying it and then she followed the treat and viola! spinning on command.
