Chewie has fur wings

No, this isn't like anything bad happened or he passed away. But Chewie has developed these shocks of fur behind his shoulders that have a different color, growth pattern, and movement to them. They really do look like angel wings, just behind his front legs. I will need to get a decent photo of them to post.

Has anyone seen this before? Is this generally part of their coat growth?
