Thanks to everyone for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. It is truly comforting to know that such a wonderful Sheltie community is here for support. I know there will never be another Chris in my life, but I will have another wonderful bond with a new Sheltie companion in the near future. They are so amazing, smart and willing to always be there for us. Maybe sometimes things happen in our lives to lead us in a new direction. Maybe to lead me here to a wonderful group of caring Sheltie lovers that feel as I do. Thank you for being here.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Chris was one of the lucky ones to be so dearly loved and cared for by his two legged family. Hugs to you all.
I joined this community when we decided to on a sheltie puppy a year after suffering our own heartache after also losing a dear companion. It is a wonderful place.

i don't avoid it, but am relieved every day when there isn't a new post. When there is a new post, I know someone needs support as I will someday...

Again thank you to my new friends here. I read the thoughtful replies, and it gives me comfort in knowing they're caring people here that give me hope and peace. It's been a long two weeks since Chris passed and it's still hard to accept, but it's getting a little easier to look ahead. I can tell it's going to be a long process, but with you all it makes it easier. Thanks.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Remember the good times and you will never forget him. The pain will lessen but will never go away for a family member well loved but the memories of his life will help down the road.
