Class of 2014 Alumni Photo Update!

Time for the baby of the Class of 2014 to check in.

It's Keiran's birthday, one year old today, and what a year it's been (his picture is in the Fuzzy Photos section). Between waiting from February to April to bring him home to discovering the work ethic this little boy has, to his moments of getting into things he shouldn't it's been a fun and wonderful ride. I've asked a lot of him right away by starting him in rally and treibball classes. He LOVES treibball and, right now, I think he does rally for me, it's too slow for him.

When we started agility classes I discovered how absolutely fearless this little guy is. He is so much fun to train because he wants to play the game and work with me. I can see the promise and hope I'm a good enough trainer to bring it out.

I'm really looking forward to continuing our journey together. Who knows where it will lead but we'll have fun getting there!

tesslyn - so fun to put pictures on the names that I know so well, but had actually thought that it was Savannah was the largest and Kaleigh the smallest. :biggrin2:

Kaleigh lying in bed might as well had been Minnie it really is not to tell the difference.

Great photos! Kaleigh and Savannah are very pretty girls :smile2:.

thanks, they are a novelty here, and they get lots of attention, but the major difference between CO and here, they aren't referred to as mini collies, most people KNOW they are shelties which pleases me:yes:

Update

Finally getting around to posting an update on Enzo--Class of 2014 (born 3/18/14).

He is such a unique dog. I think I've said this before, but I'm always amazed at how similar and yet how different dogs can be within the same breed.

He's SO high energy and high drive. Always wants to play. Would fetch until his legs fell off (if anyone has seen the movie "Mean Girls", we always tell him "stop trying to make fetch happen!").

He loves in the funniest ways. Adores strangers (new best friend!). Usually too busy to cuddle, but randomly will jump on us (oof!) and give us a few silly kisses before running away again in search of a toy to cram into our legs or a bone for us to hold while he chews it (yes, he's spoiled!)

He loves agility, and clearly wants to get things right. He's the edgiest dog I've ever had. *BARK* "I'm frustrated". *SPIN* "I'm frustrated". *RUN AROUND LIKE A CRAZY MAN* "give me something to do". He learns in spurts and really improves after a break from the action (I can see him getting too high and then the learning stops). But he's incredibly athletic and has a natural talent for the sport. He's earned a few titles so far, but it's time for us to focus on handling, rather than on obstacles, so we can be a bit more successful

He grows coat like the wild man that he is, and hates to be groomed (apparently he's good for the groomer, so clearly it's a me problem!)

Likes other dogs, though puts his tail up and puffs himself up for the males just to show them who's boss. Sometimes he growls at them so they know how manly he is, but that's when his mom steps in and tells him what's what :rolleyes2:

I couldn't love him any more! Even when he's being a butthead (one of our favorite nicknames for him!)

This is a great thread!

Here is my Baker boy at 10 weeks and this Christmas season at just over 1 1/2.

He is a very, very busy little boy - love him to the moon and back!

Enzo is stunning - reminds me so much of my Trace - who also had a beautiful, thick coat. I was very lucky that he tolerated (even enjoyed) being groomed. Now my Baker has a much finer coat, which is a good thing because he absolutely HATES being groomed, no matter how many treats are involved.

Are you describing your dog or his 13 month old uncle? These boys really can be quite full of themselves apparently.

He really is a handsome and happy boy. We really can't wish for much more than that.

He sounds VERY much like my Spirit Joy :-)
