Climbs and claws

My little Unagi (10 weeks old) climbs and claws on me everytime I let her out of her crate or when I come down stairs in the morning or when I give or take away her food or water. What's the best way to teach her to stay down? She doesn't quite understand 'stay' or 'come here' yet, but does really well with 'sit', 'paw', and 'lay down'. I don't think she understands 'No' either. Any suggestions?
 
One thing that I taught when it comes to coming out of the crate was "wait". I can now open the crate and Lexi won't come out until I say "ok!" It gives her time to compose herself, and she doesn't come flying out (well, not as much) like she used to.

What you do is you open the crate door slightly and say "wait". If the dog tries to get out, gently put her back in. Reward her for waiting and not pushing against you or the door. When you are ready (don't make her hold it to long at first), release her using a release command like "ok!" You can slowly increase this to where the door is totally open and the dog will wait for your release.
 
I have the door to the crate open so she can go eliminate in her peeing pad. She's really good about it. She's in there when I go to sleep, and when I'm up she's in there for 2 hours every other hour.
 
You can search crate games on youtube. They are actually really fun to do with your puppy and it teaches your dog all sorts of self control in a fun way.
 
Cran and Dix have to wait when I open the crate doors too. They are getting better at it. Callie doesn't have too but she's not a rocket dog either :wink2:
Cran as a puppy, I taught him up or on- where he could put his paws on my knees. Then I taught him off - to put all 4 paws on the floor/ground. did not take him long to figure that out :smile2:
