Happy New Year all!

Am looking for an everyday wear collar for my Sheltie, can anyone recommend any good ones?

I like the soft leather rolled collar that is 3/8 inch for my girls because it doesn't mat their fur much. I tried various ones on them but unlike my previous girls that didn't seem to mind collars, they don't like stuff on their necks. Kaleigh especially seemed bothered by all the other types I tried for her, this one she doesn't scratch at or roll on the floor trying to get off, or try to shake off. It buckles and I got one that could be on the last punch hole so there isn't excess to rub or disturb. Haven't had them slip off on walks.
 
We swear by Leashes by Design. The braided kangaroo disappears into the fur but doesn't tangle. Plus, they have martingales, which means no slipping out as is possible with traditional collars. yes, they're expensive, but they absolutely never wear out! Layla and Bitsy Boodle have had theirs for nine years with no sign of wear.

I too swear by Leashes by Design. I'm thrilled to hear she is back in production!

But this is an investment that is better left until your pup is full grown.

In the meantime, I suggest that you are going to go through a few collars until your pup is full grown.

With Callan I had just a basic collar to start to wear around and about the house and a body harness that I used for car travel . If you travel a lot, a harness makes it really easy to grab your dog and pick them up and move them around.

I never found a harness necessary for regular walking though. But none of my dogs were pullers. I found harnesses too hard to fit with the Sheltie small heads and full ruffs once they were full grown. I always found martingales the best option.

That brings us back to Leashes by Design. Love them. Narrow and round, so no matting. Loose when not attached to a lead, so no matting, but attached to a lead, you have control without chocking (if sized correctly)
