Colonel Underpants Unleashed

Beckon simply blew my mind at out last Rally class. We missed a week, and I figured he'd go all stupid on me. We'd only practiced pivot a couple of times, and he seemed clueless.

So I decided what the heck, and when we did our first run through, I decided to do it off leash. I expected to see him roam all over hell's half acre. Imagine my shock when he stayed right with me, did every sign, only lagged slightly on a right turn, and finished in high style. We did it three times, and except for one moment when he was in a down and became distracted (and just stayed there while I went blithely off), he was amazing! He even pivoted -- not perfectly, but he's starting to get it. Once we nail the jump, we're going to be ready for RA.

Who knows, maybe come 212, we'll be trying for Qs at that level! :smile2:

Way to go Beckon! I watched Rally for the first time at a dog show on the weekend, very impressive. We were lucky enough to have someone beside us that was willing to explain what was going on.

Sandstorm here;
Colonel Underpants yu are a good dog! yu are the best dog.

When we moved to off leash in rally, I was surprised that Lexi actually did better w/o the leash. She had to pay attention to know where to go. When she was on leash, she seemed to know that she could depend on the leash to keep me close.
