Confused on food portions

Well we're almost done with the bag of Orijen, and I bought a bag of Acana the other day. The one thing I noticed is that the Orijen seems to have a waxy/oily texture, where TOTW and Acana does not. I'm not sure what that is about.. it didn't really bother me. I was just surprised when I opened the bag of Acana to see it was more like TOTW than the Orijen.

Missy did really well on the Orijen, so I'm hoping she does just as well on the Acana.

Yeah, I noticed that too when I switched from Orijen to Acana. I'm not really sure why the difference, you could email the company.

It doesn't seem to be out of the ordinary and my dogs gobbled it down as quickly as they did the Orijen kibble. :smile2:

Thanks for the tip! I think I saw that the last time you posted it, I'll have to actually try it this time!

I'm going to feed her 2/3 cup a day for now, and keep track of her weight... I guess I need to go buy a new scale. Mine broke a couple years ago during a move and since I have absolutely no interest in weighing myself, I haven't replaced it yet.

I appreciate everyone's advice! You all are a great group!

Our Mally, also, eats 2/3 cup a day.

1/3 cup in the a.m. and then again 1/3 cup in the p.m.

Our vet recommended feeding twice a day.
