Connecticut Shelties -- New Home FOUND with Forum Member!

Dani, I'll keep you posted. If you hear of anyone who might be interested, let me know. The family all live in apartments that don't allow pets, they love the dogs and are upset that they can't keep them.

I posted it to my facebook and will let you know if anyone I know responds. I will make sure that it is someone that I would trust with my dogs before I forward them to you. Shelties are really popular around here. Let's keep our fingers crossed. And definitely let me know if they need a foster home.

If they do decide to let them go out of state please let me know. I'd be interested. I have been fostering for our local humane society & also doing dog rescue on my own since 2006. I have 2 wonderful mellow shelties that are about 7 years old & I don't work outside the home so I am able to devote a lot of time to loving on them. I know it must be breaking the family's heart to have to rehome them.

I'll check with the owners tomorrow and will let you know what they say. I'll put you in touch with them if they're willing. Thanks so much for the offer!

Dani, I'll keep you posted on the foster. Thanks for posting on FB too!

Thanks Ann! I know how hard it is sometimes to keep them together & that's a majorly important thing right now. My 1st sheltie rescue was 3 from OK. The shelter told me Hershey was 4 & Lassie & Annie were 2. When I got them home to my vet they said Hershey was at least 8-10 & the other 2 were at least 4. Lassie was HW positive & Hershey had seizures from time to time. They have all passed away from age or illness but they stole my heart & made me a sheltie lover for life. Wherever the 2 from CT go at least they'll have each other.

We Did It!

A huge THANKS to lasheltie who, after a week of work, phone calls, emails and research, has agreed to adopt Bailey and London, the two Shelties whose owner died here in Connecticut recently.

Thanks to the efforts of some wonderful people, including lasheltie, who worked overtime to help arrange transport to Louisiana, and a generous donation to the transport company made by a Connecticut rescue friend, Bailey and London will be on their way to lasheltie this weekend where they'll enjoy a wonderful life with her two Shelties and family!

I'm so excited that everything came together and we were able to make this happen. I can't wait to see the pictures and hear the stories about their new adventures.

Oh I am so happy for them and and La sheltie. Congrats on your new family members and God Bless you for adopting them. Can't wait to see pics and here all about them.

Yay!! I love happy endings. I'm so glad they get to stay together! I can't wait to hear all about them and see the great pictures to come!

Way to go lasheltie!!!, what a huge effort on you part. Thank you. So glad they're saying together. I'm sure they will love their new home.
