Sharon, as much as I want to take a credit for this... during my training at recallers similar question was asked of SG and that was her answer. Yes, her dogs do bark when they run and she is ok with it. No, her dogs do not bark while in crate.
When you are on agility field and attempting to train lets say for a faster DW and your dog barks while running- you can only choose and reinforce for that very criteria- i.e. faster/ speedier run. If you want to train for no barking then I suppose you choose to reward /reinforce any speed but done quietly. Otherwise it gets very confusing for the dog.
