Cross Training

We also have a number of indoor facilities around here allowing us to do agility all year round.

I do also train Edan in Rally, in fact we are 1 leg short of our Rally Advanced title. There are two Rally trials coming up in my area - one in September and one in October. I'll probably get the title at one of those. We are also introducing APDT rally into the area, 3 different local clubs/organizations will be offering it and a 4 location just 1.5 hours away.

Treibball - this is a newer sport for us, and so far it's helped with distance, directionals, and body language...anyone else doing treibball?

We actually started training treibball just under a year ago. We aren't ready to start competing yet because the dogs, and us, are still figuring out the best approaches to training. However our first group of dogs, which include Edan and CJ, are starting to move up to 5 balls into a goal in about 3-4 minutes, so we are improving.

There are times I think Edan and CJ enjoy treibball more than agility. They really get very excited when the large balls come down and and we start working the skills. (CJ especially loves to pus the balls around.)

I would love to try my hand at almost all the games....at least once. Especially herding and lure coursing. Then treiball and flyball. Then tracking and freestyle. I didn't list obedience/rally since to me, those are things I plan on one day doing, and it's something I can train for now, at home, on my time.

Treiball sounds like a lot of fun.
And Silaria, maybe they do like it better than agility. ;) Guess you found your next sport. Is that something they can do once they retire from agility?
