Well, after a long (5 week) training hiatus during the holidays, we are finally back at it and boy does it feel good! In November, we went back and re-trained and played around with foundations again. Whatever we were doing just wasn't working and I was getting A LOT of barking and not very much listening. We stopped for awhile and worked on our listening skills by learning new tricks; changed handling systems, and now focus on strong verbal cues so that you can be at X while your dog is at Y and still takes whatever obstacle the way you want them to. Up until this week, we were working on one and two-jump skills and drills. Last night, we sequenced for the first time. So happy with how well we worked together.. and Cruz was LISTENING!! We didn't have the speed we normally do, but I will take slower and listening to me any day! Good boy, Cruz man :hugs

We have a seminar with Jessica Patterson coming up.. I hope this is the dog that shows up for me!

That looked really nice to me, some excellent moves and he was not fussed about the tunnels under obstacles, plus nice touches. Looking good to me:smile2:

You guys look great! He seems to be listening to you just fine.

It is a HUGE improvement from the beginning of December when we stopped sequencing altogether! I couldn't even get him over one obstacle without the crazy barking, spinning and biting at my hands.. it was frustrating! I don't mind the barking but I'd also like you to be able to listen to me while you do it :) much better now!

I will post videos on Monday from our seminar this weekend!
