I have seen dogs tear the third eye and have small flaps left intact. Of course that is hard to do without scratching the cornea or damaging the eye. But I have seen amazing things happen.
Rachel's sister had a BC that jammed a 2" stick long into the inner corner of his eye socket, totally missed the eye and caused only alittle squinting. She took him to another vet who didn't see it and he developed horrible conjunvitis and a corneal ulcer when he started pawing at it 3 days later. We knocked him out and picked up the 3rd eyelid and saw this object barely poking out underneath. Our jaws dropped to the floor when we pulled it out. Had I not seen it with my own eyes I wouldn't have believed it. It was as thick as a pencil.
I hope Dandie is ok and it nothing serious.
