With all the brushing I do I didn't think it would be possible for dandruff to appear. I thought brushing would stimulate the skin?

My Chance had the same problem until I changed his food and got thyroid meds for him! Not sure if you want to get his thyroid checked but it might be helpful to know as shelties are prone to this issue.

Dry skin can cause dandruff too. Pixie used to get it. You might try an oatmeal-based shampoo or one with tea tree oil in it. I found the one I use trying to cure Pixie and now I use it on all my dogs. It's Buddy Wash Lavender and Mint. It has tea tree oil plus conditioner and really helps skin issues.

Lil Lady had dry skin around her neck a bit but it told me with some weight gain and a bit lazy she had a thyroid problem and she did.

I call some of this stuff a process of elimination. Food, yard, thyroid and so on.

Jasmine had dandruff when I first got her. I found Blue Buffalo Basics - Sensitive Solution Formula works best for her. The dandruff cleared up within a week.
