Dealing with allergies (Katy's, not mine! LOL)

Allergies have been REAL bad in my area for everyone; itchy eyes, coughing, sneezing, etc. Not trying to be gross, but when I mowed the yard on Sunday my nose just poured the whole time! All of the humans have been taking Loratadine allergy pills twice a day and Benadryl at night :-O

So we're not really shocked that Katy has red, itchy paws. And when she licks them, she'll cough a bit. With clear scans, though, we're all pretty sure that it's seasonal allergies and not a recurrence of the bronchitis.

I first tried Pet Honesty Allergy Itch Relief for Dogs, but it had no apparent impact:

After talking with the vet, I've been giving her Benadryl (25mg) 3 times a day. That helps, but it seems to wear off after about 4 hours so there's another 4 hours before her next dose! I also wash her paws every time she goes outside, but I'm sure that it's in her fur and everything.

Any other suggestions that might help her paws? The vet couldn't recommend anything other than Benadryl, so I'm mainly asking about home remedies or general tips that have worked for you.

TIA!

Brief history
Katy turned 13 in April! :-D She had a stroke last year (that may have been vestibular disease, I'm not 100% convinced either way) but recovered with no long lasting symptoms, but now she's on Keppra as a precaution against seizures (which she hasn't had since that first day, but the vet wants to keep her on it to be safe).

Then in March the vet said she was riddled with cancer!! But after antibiotics and Prednisone, her last scan came out perfect!!! So now we're thinking it was just chronic bronchitis, after all.

She's still on Prednisone, which we've been tapering off slowly. She currently has 1 pill in the morning and half of a pill at night. I don't remember offhand, but I think they're 10mg pills?

Also noteworthy is that she's been eating Farmer's Dog since her stroke, so almost a year.

Fillion's left eye is running like your nose! LOL Dr. Amy said long ago to give him Loratadine, (which I did till he built up a tolerance) and now switched to Zyrtec, plus I put a drop of Alaway in his eye twice a day on her instructions. I use Alaway and Pataday for myself (my left eye was running as bad as Fil's LOL) but Pataday is a big no-no! No idea why, but every website plus the vet said NO. Alaway is cheap and found at walmarts and walgreens.

Loratadine is a second gen antihisimine so has less side effects than benadryl, like drowsiness. Zyrtec and Xyzal are third gen antihistimines with even less side effects.

My grass allergies have been off the charts this year also. I did not know you could give Loratadine to dogs, though. Wish I had some advice but luckily I've not had to deal with allergic pets.

Yeah Fil has no drowsiness with claritin like benadryl, and so far the zyrtec has worked well. Poor Fil had so much drainage he was coughing and tryin to clear phelmy lungs like an old man! Pills dry him right out. Drops turn off the eye faucet at least for many hours...
