certain dogs foods might actually attract certain things (like ticks) to your dog?
I used to feed my dogs nutro and occassionally found a tick on my babies. Three months ago I switched to Halo and all of a sudden my dogs are covered in ticks. Giving them baths in flea and tick shampoo and using Advantix does nothing now. It may just be coincidental that they seem to be getting tons more ticks even after spraying the house and the yard after we changed to a Holistic food. It is driving me nuts that just their food has changed in the past year. Last year on Nutro they had maybe one or two ticks but this year they have had like clusters of ticks in their shoulder area. Like three or four clumped together.
There has not been a lot of rain here so it is not like the rains are bringing them out. The exterminator said ticks can live in the ground for up to 17 years...that sure did not make me feel any better
