Does your dog own you?

Own Her? Of course we own her. I tell her when to get up, when to take me out, when it's time for my medicine and all Gypsy has to do is tap her with her paw and Mom gives her a belly rub or a massage. We have her trained so good Gypsy even waits until 3:00 in the morning and while Mom is asleep Gypsy will just start tapping her paw on the bed while she lays at Mom's feet and Mom wakes up and will sit up and start petting her. Oh I rolled with laughter the first time Gypsy bet me it would work and it did. Ya, we own her,but more than that we love her unconditionally. That's the least we could do for all the hair appts. she skips so she can have us groomed, the nail appts. she no longer goes to so we have the best vet care and this year she is even staying home instead of taking a vacation because we haven't been well. She chose us over going to see her sisters so we've decided we'll keep her.

You have a picture of your dog in your wallet,
but not one of your kids.
You have your dog talk to your friends on the
phone.
You spend more on clothes and food for your
dog than you do for yourself.
Your vet and grooming bills exceed your rent.
You sit on the floor if the dog got in the chair
first.
When you need someone to talk to,
your dog is your first choice.

Found this tonight as I was surfing a website. I thought it was so true.

Bailey definitely owns me... she has her little paw tightly gripped around my finger.

Although, I don't have anything in common with that list.
I don't carry pictures of anyone in my wallet, but I do have pictures of Bailey on my phone.
I don't have my friends talk to Bailey on the phone  but a few times my mom has put the phone to Bailey's ear, so I can talk to her.
Definitely don't spend more money on food and clothes for Bailey than myself. A bag of food is $15 a month. I spend that much a day on food for myself. And I don't buy clothes for Bailey.
Bailey's vet bills have been expensive, but I don't pay rent :wink2:
And I wouldn't sit on the floor. I would just sit next to Bailey or put her on my lap.

I have spent more money on grooming equipment, training classes, toys, agility equipment, etc than I have on myself recently.
I take Bailey to the vet for the smallest thing, but I can't even remember the last time I've been to the doctor.
When I first got Bailey, she had health insurance and I didn't.
I have stayed up all night when she was sick. I even slept on the floor with her.
I am always talking to my friends about her.
I am always researching food, treats and supplements for her. Yet, who knows what I'm eating? I've never researched my own food

the list goes on...

Susan's right, odds are that if you are on this forum, it's a no brainer how you are going to answer this question.

I have pics on my phone and in my office of both dogs, several are studeo shots. I have a dgital frame that shows Deja herding.

I went to a job site wednesday to meet with an upset customer. She was so mad she couldn't see straight but she had two ****zus.. I told her how cute her dogs were and asked if she wanted to see mine. The tech I brought with me dids his job while we laughed and shared dog stories.. Deja is in every part of my life and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Guilty!
Pics of dogs on walls at home:24 (large), pics of family 5 (small)
At work office was wallpapered with pics of the dogs. There was one family pic - but the dogs are in that too:lol:
My friends are all dog owners and the dogs (and the rabbits) eat better than we do!!

Let's see...I don't carry pictures of my kids or grandkid, but I sure do of my dogs. And I pull them out with very little provocation! I also have pictures of the dogs on my desk at work, computer, screen saver and on my phone.

We stayed at a separate hotel from everyone for my son's wedding this summer because it was dog friendly and, yes, Pixie came!

When hubby comes home, we talk about what the dogs did today. OK, and a bit about work and life, but dog talk is more fun! When we go out, we look forward to coming home to the dogs.

So yes, it's safe to say, our lives are not our own. And we wouldn't have it any other way. :smile2:
