Dog Bed For Chewers

Lightplum should really ANNOUNCE Six.

Six made such a sensation at the picnic.

As far as durable bedding goes, MMM says there is nothing nicer than a queen size bed with human legs to lean up against in the dark scary night and you can always lick them if they take up too much of your space. The legs move straightaway when you start to lick them, no need to chew.:lol:

I have a full sized bed. A full sized bed + a fat chick + a collie sized shelite = not happening. :biggrin2:

I have never tried it with Fluffy though.

And...

Yes! Announce Six! Help stupid people like me become less stupid! :biggrin2:

Thanks Randi!! Now you've got me looking at the overstock bed...since Six has outgrown his little puppy bed and his legs and head hang out when he goes in it!!!! BAD MOMMY!!! I was wondering if the inside piece is all one part of if it comes out as a cushion...I dont want seperate pieces as they rip those inside piece out....

Although now that im thinking I've also got a Boots and Barkley bed at Target that it chew "resistant" and Ive had it for a few years in my kitchen/dining room and its had alot of abuse and still looks brand new and its fairly cheap...I think it was under $30.

LOL I still have Bailey's puppy bed. She actually never chewed a hole in it, but it's definitely too small for her. Sometimes she still likes to squeeze her big behind in it  She grew out of her puppy bed long before I let her have her adult bed. She kept chewing it. I Kept giving it to her and then taking it away. She finally put a hole in it.

To me, it looks like the inside is all one piece, but it's hard to tell. Someone reviewed it and said this "The floor of the bed is waterproof and each cushion, even the side walls, are removable." So...I'm not really sure.

Bailey is more than welcome to share the bed with me, but she doesn't want to. :( Once in a blue moon, she'll sleep on my bed, but the majority of the time she sleeps in her bed, under my desk or in her crate. She rotates throughout the night.

The kong beds do look very durable... do you know if they make them with a back and sides? I don't think Bailey would like a flat bed.

I was looking at this:

It looks to be a sturdier material than soft fleece one she has now. And since it's not too expensive, i could get this too:

Armarkat (Spelling) is a great brand.I know they make one heck of a study cat condo~

Even Six's name origin is hilarious.

Six and Fluffy would probably make great friends.

OKOK I'll have to get cracking on a Six thread....I have to do pics since I havent done any in awhile...although you may only see head shots since hes going though that coyote stage at the moment!:eek2: I'll see what I can come up with and when I have a spare moment as im showing the next few days!

I just got beds for the two made of Crypton fabric (coz I am lazy and want to do less laundry). The material is thick, water resistant and so far has withstood their nails (just clipped and unfiled so sharp and scratchy!). They don't chew their beds tho' so I can't tell you if it passes that test!

See here -http://www.cryptonfabric.com/crypton/about.do?atabId=2 If you look around the website you can find pet beds for sale. If you google you can probably get it cheaper.

Now that I know what material to look for, I will check out petsmart, petco and target this weekend. If I can't find anything that will stand up to Bailey's chompers, then I will order the purple overstock.com bed.

Blast you people! Now you've got me eyeing crypton dog beds!

Not sure if you've done much research on the fabric but apparently it's not just "tough" but it's also stain, smell, and bacteria resistant. You can buy a special EPA approved cleaner to clean the stuff without washing it for spot cleans.

But they are averaging about $100.00. *it burns us!*
