Dog Walking Coat - For Me

Just a side comment... I have found that snowpants are the key to comfortable dog walking in the winter. Fine, they look silly, but they so help keep me warm. Plus, good waterproof boots and if it's icy, I wear these things called Yak Trax. They provide traction. Plus the hat, scarf, and gloves, and long underwear, and also usually a sweater or sweatshirt layered inside. With all this stuff Buffy gets long walks because it takes forever to put it on, so it had better be worth it!

All Buffy needs is Musher's Secret for her feet. We got her booties but she HATED them to an almost humorous extent.

I often wear snow pants and waterproof boots when the weather is bad. But like I said, its time to retire my 20 year old coats. :smile2:

I know this isn't exactly what you're looking for but this Columbia coat seems longer than most, has a hood, and zippered pockets and I think the dark color is quite nice. Best of all it's shipping from Canada so you won't have to worry about extra shipping costs.

Note: My daughter, Emily, did the research (online searching) for a coat that might work for you. She wanted to help. Hope it did.

Melissa, not sure if you've decided on anything, but Land's End has 30% off everything until midnight tonight.

I personally love the Lands End Parkas. They are great, and you can find some great deals on them. Search for promo codes for Lands End. I think Sears carry them as well.

Holy crap, did you notice the price of that coat! I just about fell off my chair. My budget is $200 max.

You can have your head enrobed in canine, while walking your canine :eek2:

I assume you mean the people coat, not the dog coat? But just think what a picture op all of you in your matching parkas!

You have to admit the Canada Pooch coats are way cute! (though perhaps overmuch for a Sheltie!)

One of these days, I'm going to bring the dogs in and make them model every outfit....including the santa outfit!:hide

I didn't even notice that till I went back and re-read the article. Even if I could have afforded it, I wouldn't have bought it just for that.

I looked up those Canada Pooch coats, yes, VERY cute! I'd love to see some photos of your two wearing those. They must look adorable. :biggrin2:
