Dogs need help…share the word!

Sadly there are dog lovers and non-dog lovers. We have a friend who lost her Mom, her step dad about 67-72 years old had both of her Mom’s dogs (small breed) put to sleep 3 day after the funeral. He didn’t want them put simply. Our friend was devastated a double loss, he didn’t even ask her if she would like like to take them. I guess everyone needs to make sure that worse case scenario your dog has a secure home if you pass. My daughter knows she will have Cooper moving in and to keep that in mind when choosing her next dog. She has a 9 year old black Lab. Here’s hoping things for this persons dogs end well with a good home.

That’s how I got Riley (my first Sheltie)…he was 5 1/2 and his owner had passed away suddenly. Her mom was my client and I knew Riley for several years from my visits. None of the family wanted him and he languished with an elderly neighbour for a month.…poor guy had his world turned upside down in a heartbeat and no one wanted to even see him, it was so incredibly sad!
Riley had a good 6 1/2 years with us!
