Dry, wet, hard, soft.....

We were feeding our girls Science Diet, thinking that was the best. We just didn't know any better!

A friend told me about www.dogfoodanalysis.com

There I learned about the best brands of dog food. Wellness and Orijen all rank high, as does Taste of the Wild, which is what we feed our girls.

They love Taste of the Wild, and while it is a bit pricy, I like knowing I am getting the best for my girls. Has anyone else tried this brand? I'm curious what your opinions are on it

Orijen is very high in protein and very low in carbohydrates which is what dogs if fed on a barf diet would be eating. Over here we were told not to feed a food that was to high in protein as it would make your dog hyper but that theory seems to be discounted now. My sisters lad that's fed on Orijen had problems with his cruciate ligament and he was always at the vets, since changing him over he has been fine and she is putting it down to the food. Unfortunately there is only one place you can get it over here and that is on the Internet which is going to be a right royal pain in the bum.

nutro...

I just switched Griffin to Nutro natural choice small bites lamb and rice and he seems to love it.... much better then what we were feeding him:uhoh:... there's so many choices!!!!!
The natural choice seems like a good choice (and maybe the fact that there's a sheltie on the bag swayed me a bit)...

Well, after reading these posts, I think we did pretty good choosing a food for Madi :)

We looked at all the brands at the pet store and decided on the Wellness brand because it is all natural.

She was only kinda nibbling at the dry kibble, so tonight I went and got a few cans of the canned puppy food and I added a spoonful to flavor her dry and she chowed it down  So I guess we will do that for a bit and get her back to all dry with canned as a treat.
