Ear tipping

I use Tear Mender...just a teeny dab and make sure to glue hair to hair. The tip I learned if you use a glue is to hold it in place for a full 30 seconds.
I am still tipping Mystique's ears and probably will do so until she is a year or so (she has a persistent "Hello" ear). Until she was 5 months I also set them together....some people do it longer than 5 months.
I use a gentle adhesive remover that I bought from a medical supply company to remove the glue for shows. Be careful what you use to remove it as some recommended products are really hard on your puppy's skin.

This is the best "how to" glue ears I've seen anywhere! Thank you for posting it!

This is a wonderful link above.....Angus and I have had quite a fun time with his ears  His sisters were so good and left their ears in and didn't fight them, but not Angus......he is a rough and tough boy, who feels beauty should be left for the girls. I find myself redoing his ears every 24-48 hours :rolleyes2: I will try this method above and see how it works! Fingers crossed!

Blakes ears have been glued since 6 weeks, and now he is almost 6 months. I just redid his ears this morning, and if the dog is used to it,and has had his done ince early age,I find it does make a difference

I did Blakes ears in less than 5 minutes this morning. He is in his crate at the moment. I do not let him go romping around,I like to keep him settled to make sure the ears will stay put.
So far,it is only the first time I have had to re-do his ear set,and it was only because I bathed him last night. A gluing,if done correctly should last a good 2-3 weeks, providing the dog leaves them alone.
remember..hair to hair..

I think what I love most about the tipped ears is that when I'm walking Beau the ears bounce up and down like they are ready to take flight

Thank you for the help! :smile2: I have been doing his ears while he sleeps to help let them sit and dry. His breeder started them at about 5 weeks old, and his sisters have been great, just not Angus. He is such a good boy though....we'll make it through!

Jiffy Sew Glue (made especially)

I used glue on my three Shelties. My most recent, Skye, is my third and will be 4 months next week; it works great and not too much worry; non-toxic and safe for them pretty much apply and forget.
