Ebay for flea/heartworm meds?

Has anyone used Ebay for buying Frontline Plus or Heartguard? Even 1800petmeds wants nearly $80 for a 6 month supply--I have 2 dogs and 2 cats...this is getting pricey. However, I found a 6 month supply on ebay for just $17.00--free shipping. They sell it in a "Factory Sealed" kit that contains multiple doses per container that you dump into a vial and measure out yourself using a no-needle syringe. This particular seller claims to be US EPA registered and is a top rated seller with 100% postive feedback. Any thoughts or comments on your experiences with this? Here's a link for one of them: http://cgi.ebay.com/FRONTLINE-PLUS-DOGS-0-22-LBS-6-MONTH-SUPPLY-/200609583855?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2eb54352ef

Have you looked at Pet Armor Plus? Frontline's patent ran out & it's the generic equivalent. I would be leery of buying off of Ebay.

No I haven't heard of Pet Armor before. I just looked it up, though. It's true it looks the same, but I looked at the price it would cost me at Walmart and it's really not saving me too much. It would be about $50 for a 6 month supply and for 4 pets that's still quite a bit of money. I think I'm willing to consider trying Ebay since the seller has no complaints and it claims to be "factory sealed". Plus, paying less than $140 a year for all 4 of my pets sounds better than the $400 for pet armor or $600 for Frontline from my vet. I'll definitely inspect the packaging before I use it though. Ebay has never really done me wrong in the past. And anything I wasn't satisfied with I was compensated for or was able to get my money back.

I'm still curious about anyone on here that has tried it though...I've read reviews online about it but haven't seen to much about it on thir forum.

Thanks for the tip! However, KV doesn't appear to have any Frontline Plus for dogs or cats. And Foster and Smith I had looked into before, it's still over $60 for a 6 month supply...nothing seems to compare to the $17 6-month supply I've found on ebay.

As much as we try to be open minded of such alternative suppliers, it sounds like they are selling the product at about a third or less of what it would cost them to buy it.
Were I a diabetic, I wouldn't be picking up my insulin on EBay from an unknown source for a fraction of what insulin costs with no markup.

I would be skeptical. - Dr. Mac

I agree with Dr. Mac. I wouldn't buy my dog's medication from Ebay. There are stores that sell fake flea/tick medicine. I would never trust a place like Ebay for medication. Stick to a vet or a reputable site, which requires a prescription from your vet.

Sounds sketchy to me.

Maybe you should evaluate if you really need these? Are the cats outdoor cats? If not, they probably don't need it. Do the dogs stay outside all day? Or are they primarily inside? I have one dog that gets topical because his reaction to a single flea is worse than the topical. The rest don't get topicals.

I agree with the others and would be sceptical of purchasing medication from eBay. I have bought many things from eBay over the years but never any thing like medications, I just wouldn't trust it.

Yeah, it's so odd that they sell it for so cheap...but you can't fabricate the feedback that the customers have left where they say how great it works and such. I definitely am going to ask some of my friends if any of them have ever purchased it from ebay. I really just sounds too good to be true. However, I've bought many things off ebay that sounded that way but were in fact for real. Last year I purchased Adobe Lightroom at half the cost that the next cheapest retailer was selling it. I took the risk, relying on the feedback I read and the fact that he was a "power seller" and it was in fact a factory sealed, unregistered product. I also always contact the seller if something seems sketchy and question them before I buy. I'm going to do some more research online to see if I can find people or sellers that have been pointed out as scammers.
