Just wanted to update everyone on Eddie.

He's about 12 weeks now. He's a great joy in our family. He's now potty trained to about mayby 90% of the time. Because he's in his own room, when he's there, he goes to the bathroom in the right place. Maybe once or twice a week, he's have an accident.

But if he's in other rooms in the house, I guess he hasn't figured out thathe's supposed to walk back to his spot yet (will he eventually get it?)

He's a real chewer. He loves to chew on the socks I'm wearing. He kinda stopped chewing on my toes now, thank goodness. And he loves to chew on his newly replaced toilet pad. If he goes on the pad, the he won't chew on it anymore.

Three days ago, he learned how to go up the stairs. So now if we don't block it off, you can find him in my room (2nd floor).

Oh and with other owners, he's so hyper! Especially after meals! Oh, and since we don't put the water out for him, he now goes to the sink and bark when he's thirsty! They are so smart!

If anyone can give me advice on how to train him how to go to his potty place when he's in another room, I'd appreciate it very much.

And how do you train him to Stay? Because he doesn't stay, it's hard for me to inspect his body after he goes and run around outside.

One more thing? Anyone use the Revolution product for flea, motes, worm prevention? I heard they are good for puppies since it's all in one. I haven't started Eddie on anything yet but would like to so I can take him to the park n all. Thanks for listening!

He is very cute!

Potty training will go better if you keep him confined to a smaller area, except when you can keep a sharp eye on him. Any sign that he may need to potty and you can carry him to his spot. Sit is easy to teach, stay takes a bit longer. Be patient, shelties are very smart!

He is very cute. You are lucky to have such a sweety. I have nothing to add about potty training, but I think it would be a good idea to leave water down for him all the time during the day. You can pick it up at night to help him make it through the night without an accident, but puppies really need access to clean water all the time during the day. Good luck with your cute little guy!:smile2:

When he isn't in his room, you might want to keep him close to you, so that you can see the signs before he does his business and get him back to his special spot. For me, the easiest way was to put a belt on and put the loop of his leash through the belt, before buckling it. That way the puppy has to stay close to you all the time. House breaking does take time, but like you said they're smart and he'll get there. Congrats on such a cute, smart, furbaby.
