Welcome to Sheltie Nation to you, Kona and Gus, and thank you, thank, you! Congratulations to Gus for finding and picking the best forever home, he knew love and kindness when he saw it, and Kudos to you for being a "failure". From looking at the first two pictures, what you have done is nothing short of a miracle for this sweet little senior fur baby and the love he will return to you is without measure. Please continue to share pictures of your sweet baby's.

I had a similar case. A shaved sable boy, older, 50 pounds in weight, bad hip and hock arthritis. I was able to get him down to 39 pounds, and he grew a lot of hair! Unfortunately his hard life caught up with him and after his second bout of pancreatitis I decided I had to let him go last year.
