We had a storm blow through here Thursday evening…lasted all of 15 minutes but the hail stripped the majority of the leaves off the trees and shrubs. Good thing I cleaned the poop that day but now I have to rake and clean the leaves so I can keep on top of it.
The dogs found it rather odd having leaves all over and Blueberry in her confusion peed on the outdoor carpet because of the greenery :ROFLMAO:!
I was working (5 minutes away and I didn’t get hit fortunately so no hail damage to my car) and my mom was home alone when it hit. She said she was having a snooze in her chair when the hail started. She heard a noise like a spoon being moved in a plate so she yelled at the dogs:lol: (guilty by association I guess:ROFLMAO:) but the noise continued lol. Then she realized it was hail hitting a small window in the room so she got out of there. The noise scared the heck out of the dogs but the window didn’t break although others in the neighborhood did have broken windows.
Today is clean up day…less to clean up in a month I suppose lol. Going to be lots of barking by Blueberry as I rake and use the lawnmower to pick up the leaves! She gets her exercise by doing laps around my raised beds while trying to herd the rake (really anything that moves lol).

Wow I love trees we all should but in the Fall not so much- well it gets me out of the house over and over and over again. No matter how often I rake and blow the leaves the next day it looks like it was never done-- Course in your case not so much fall as hail. Like Shelties shedding tree shedding is an endless process that lasts from Oct to the end of December...good luck with the clean up-- has anyone ever learned to teach Shelties to rake????

That was some storm! I guess good news/bad news in that your leaves came down all at once rather than dribbling down for months to clean up. We have maple trees around our dog yard and the fence traps them so it's months of endless clearing so you can do the poop hunt. It looks like you can get it done all at once!

As I have learned when doing leaves and the poop hunt at the same time-wear crocks or something washable at least for me my shoes find a lots of "Sheltie droppings" no matter how careful I try to be..
Nothing worse than stepping in it lol!
Funny though I can always tell which poop belongs to which dog hahaha!
Almost finished the back yard, I’ve gotten 9 yard waste bags full…probably get 1 more and then I have to do the front and check my siding where the hail hit. I do have a couple corners that came off and my eaves trough really needs to be cleaned now!
It was a beautiful day to work in the yard but the wasps are horrible now! Finnie managed to bite one but luckily I don’t think it stung him although I’ve been checking him periodically and there’s no swelling.

Well you have inspired me to go out and do the poopy pick up thing--fortunately my yard has dirt and I can dig a hole and bury the weeks worth of dropings in minus the stuff on my shoe:) We have the brown paper wasps here and they are pretty friendly and usually do a head butt to warn you away before they really get mad-- even their sting is nothing like a yellow jacket which puts me in a real tail spin.. I have a wood shed which they love to use since it shelters them from the storms...I clean out the nest in the dead of winter and put them out for the birds to feed on the grubs-- I do like the brown wasps cause they get the worms off my plants but there have to be limits and boundaries.. Good Luck hail can really do a number on everything.
