Fancy Halloween Collars

Russell didn't trick or treat that year; he was a cast member in a very elaborate haunted house in a toney part of town. So while Russell was being the dark elf lord; Alan and I took Emma and Indy trick or treating. They got burger bites from Backyard Burgers and doggie treats and popcorn at several homes; and generally had a fabulous time walking around and looking at all the different houses and costumed kids. Emma set up ferocious barking at one point; and we were trying to shush her right until we turned the corner and saw what she was barking about: 3 teens in the process of destroying a nice halloween decorative display. So Emma and I rushed at them and the teens TOOK OFF before any serious damage was done (they were getting ready to throw the pumpkins at cars going by and I yelled and Emma barked and we charged in and they scrambled).

Sheltie dress-up is so much fun, isn't it!

Here's Halloween many years ago when I only had two shelties and Emma was still a pup.

Emma's costume is collar that I made with two colors of netting sewn to a ribbon for her "ballerina" look.

Indy's costume is a little shirt sewn from a small piece of blue cloth so that it makes a small cape on his back and has two sleeves, he basically steps into the sleeves. The scarf is an official cub scout wolf scarf. Indy marched in many a scout event and Christmas parade as Pack 15's scout dog. He didn't seem to mind parades...even the one where we were followed by the Highland pipers complete with kilts and bagpipes!

Russell is dressed as a dark elf lord. I don't know that I ever put a purchased costume on him; we always put together his Halloween costumes with things we had or made at home.

Oh, look! Even Russell has Sheltie PRICK ears! :biggrin2::biggrin2:

Well ya know Barb I glued them, and I taped them, and I even folded them down with chewing gum but Russ's danged ears just STOOD UP!

:biggrin2::lol:

:lol: I bet it was hell trying to explain to the teachers why your son was not actually chewing gum in class, but wearing it instead!

I don't put clothes on puppers (I one of those that think it's weird), but walmart has AWESOME Halloween bandannas for a dollar! That is what miss Emmy will be wearing this Halloween! Oh, but that collar ROCKS! I seen some puppers wearing some alot like it a little while ago and LOVED them!
