I had a diabetic dog who needed insulin injections twice a day. Insulin is given exactly the same way as subQ fluids. Some dogs don't mind it all - my Sparky was one of them. Whenever I held up his insulin syringe, he raced over to me and sat politely for his injection, knowing he was going to get a treat afterwards. He never even flinched when I gave the injections. And I was terrified to do them at first, but in the case of diabetes, I didn't have the option not to do it. So if it does end up giving Fasb a better quality of life, I would encourage you to learn to do it at home. It truly is quick and easy, as long as you have a dog who will cooperate.
