We've had our box for a week and I feel like we've made very little progress. Duncan already had an okay box turn and now has a good one (with the cone). But he isn't going fast enough to trigger the box. Also, the trigger freaks him out. I'm not going to set up the trigger and am using velcro and am going to desensitize the sound... but how can I introduce the trigger with him doing it?
I think I have to get the box out of the garage, where we don't have enough room and into the backyard, where there's plenty of room. Here's hoping that the rain will hold off for a day or two! If he is going fast enough to trigger the box, should I just let him a few times and treat him for calming himself?
AGH! I'm driving myself nuts.
