Food decisions~feedback

I have some doubts about the ingredient list. I'd stick with the Merricks or something else. Chicken fat isn't something I'd consider a good ingredient, specially so close to the top of the ingredient list. I'm uncertain of how nutritional oat groats are and I'm also not too impressed with the use of beet pulp.

Here it is on the dog food analysis web site (they've changed a few ingredients but I don't think enough to change its rating), where its listed as a 3 star food. I don't know whether I think that's warranted or not but I've found that if I look at the ingredients list and am confused then I'm probably not comfortable feeding it to my dogs.

I have been feeding Life Abundance to Che and now Sammy since we got them. Che initially had it for the meal, now only as treat and Sammy as food. I love it and dogs like it. It works well as quality treat specially in the morning. Regarding beet pulp- sorry but this one is nonsense, beet pulp is great fiber and very useful for humans and furry ones. This analysis site is so non scientific that it does not deserve a mentioning, just because someone put their personal opinion in convenient form does not mean it is gospel truth. As I am person that believes that food is great in moderation- I do not believe in fad diets, high protein diets, high carbs diets etc- everything good in moderation- analysis of protein and fat very appealing to me in Life abundance formula. Regarding high protein and all that "new" research- there is common sense that tells me that protein does not store in the body, therefore it has to be removed, daily, there are 2 main organs that process and remove excess- liver and kidney, so if you have something extra that has to be removed every day- your kidney and liver will work overtime EVERY DAY. So I am staying with common sense telling me to be moderate and get variety of things.
I also like that my food gets delivered fresh and does not store in any sun beaten track for a year before placed in the Petsmart... Support group is also very nice and changes my next shipment on the moment notice after email...

all of the dogs here, love this food.As a matter of fact, for the first time in a VERY long time,Trapp was actually looking at me this am as I fixed his dish. And he ate every morsal of it.No hesitation whatsoever.
So for us,it was a good sign. They are liking it,and we have had no gut issues.

I did have concerns about the oat groats, and wondered if it would be an issue with Earnhardt.Beet pulp,I am not concerned about. It is in such low amount, and many premium foods have it in them. And all of these pups here have eaten food with it in it.

Time will tell,as we are also offering Merricks dry kibble as well.Again a company that we know and like very much.
LA company is awesome to converse with.As a matter of fact,I called them yesterday,as we were set up on a 3 week shipment.I had got an email from them with a confirmation of our next bag to go out next week.
But I am not even remotely close to needing another. So they told me to call them when we were ready.

and yes..to me frshness is everything as well,so I totally agree with you. This food does not sit in warehouses,no does it get handled by any middle man.It is shipped fresh,no food is more than 4-5 weeks old.And 95% of the time its is fresher than that.
So time will tell, what we decide.
