For pet or profit?

I feed my dog Artemis Small Dog Puppy chow--it's wheat free (It does have barley and rice in it, so it's not technically grain free) has meat as the main ingredient, and lots of healthy veggies:

He does very well on it, and when I mentioned it to my vet she seemed very approving, lol. (She actually doesn't sell dog food in her practice, or if she does, it's not displayed.) It was recommended to me by the pet store owner; I have a natural pet store I go to in the area, so all of the products on the shelf are high-quality foods. ( http://www.thedogandcatvt.com/ )

I don't particularly care for Purina products, or "grocery store foods" in general. I feel that they're there mainly because of advertising. I'm also one of those people who used to insist there was nothing wrong with those brands, but once I looked into it, I completely changed my mind. It took the store to quick selling the brand I used to feed (Lassie Natural Way) to make me to research dog food more though.
For about a month afterwards, I switched from food to food, since there were no stores that sell good brands in my area then. Then around the end of July, a Pet Supplies "Plus" opened up and we got a decent food. Not bad timing, eh?

And not long after that, I got fully convinced to make the switch to raw for Treader. Would do raw for my other dog, too, but I have to use my allowance money and with it I can just barely afford meat for Treader. Sorry, Cookie, I can't afford to buy raw meats and organs for a 70 lb German Shepherd. =/

I feed Spencer Wellness Core and either supplement his meals with green beans or with a hard-cooked egg. No loose stools ever.

When I was a little girl, I had a Cocker Spaniel. Duchess ate Purina Dog Chow for 16 years -- threw up anything else.

That said, my girls eat Orijen, with Vibrant Pets supplement. I swear, I'd eat peanut butter to give them the best.
