Free meat?! Heck yeah!

I did research on wasting disease and I found there's never been a documented case in a canine. So, I'm not too concerned about that. I do avoid feeding them deer and elk tissues known to harbor the disease agents, such as brain, spinal cord, eyes, tonsils and lymph nodes


I switched from kibble because of this:

"No longer allowing meat from downer animals – animals unable to walk – into our human food supply. These animals are called 4D for dead, dying, diseased and disabled.

However, 4D animals can still be used in commercial pet foods and feed for poultry and swine."

I try not to buy any meat from the store b/c I don't want to eat that either and since it's fed to the animals, we're basically eating it! I wish they'd regulate food better here...

There is something so wrong with 4D animals entering the food chain human or animal. So wrong to feed meat to cows etc. Makes you wonder why so many pets are sick? Showed my husband the pic. of your pooch eating the leg he got totally grossed out :lol:
 
Showed my hubby the new pic. And he said "why do you want to keep grossing me out?" while making yuck faces.:eek2: I am having too much fun freaking him out. He did say "Don't get no ideas" :lol:
 
Ha! AND the best part is this was on Thanksgiving when my family was done here. They were a bit shocked at first, but then enjoyed watching them have so much fun. LOL
 
Wow, throw meat out for being in the freezer a bit too long? You guys are picky. None of you are bachelors I see. I've got some bones in the fridge freezer that I got for Chelsea a while back. Lets see...I've had April almost 5.5 years, I got those bones for Chelsea, when...? She might have been 6 or 7. She lived till she was just about 13, so they've got to be what, about 12 years old?

Too late to make a stew?

Ha! I think the majority of people who give me free meat are cleaning out their freezers to make room for fresh meat. I think the oldest I've fed them is 3 years old. If it's been frozen, though, I'm sure it's fine for animal consumption! LOL The older meat looked old, though. It was freezer burnt, I guess, from being in there for three years. So I wouldn't have eaten that because it probably wouldn't taste good. Other than that, it's probably fine even for a human haha
