Thanks for the link us inquiring minds want to know. I fear my Danny Boy would want to roll all over the leg. I think I was worrying about wasting disease also. I know some hunters got it after eating deer that had it.![]()
I did research on wasting disease and I found there's never been a documented case in a canine. So, I'm not too concerned about that. I do avoid feeding them deer and elk tissues known to harbor the disease agents, such as brain, spinal cord, eyes, tonsils and lymph nodes
I switched from kibble because of this:
"No longer allowing meat from downer animals – animals unable to walk – into our human food supply. These animals are called 4D for dead, dying, diseased and disabled.
However, 4D animals can still be used in commercial pet foods and feed for poultry and swine."
I try not to buy any meat from the store b/c I don't want to eat that either and since it's fed to the animals, we're basically eating it! I wish they'd regulate food better here...
