Giving it a go

Khama is my third sheltie. His big brothers simba (5) and Shoka (4) have had a fabulous agility season this year and I’m super proud of them. Khama is 7 months old now and since I got him his breeder has always said he would do well in the show ring so I thought sure why don’t I enter him and see!!

He did his first show at 5 months old in the baby puppy class and won baby puppy dog and best baby puppy in breed and then went on to get fourth best baby puppy in show!
Last weekend he was entered in the puppy class (6-12 months) for the first time and again won his class!!

Yesterday I had him entered at his first U.K. show his breeder was showing him while I did agility. He placed second in minor puppy dog and second in puppy dog qualifying him for crufts 2020!!

The plan is to train and compete for agility if he enjoys it but maybe this is something we will continue to do too

Here’s some photos just because I love showing him off

Huge congratulations! As someone who does conformation, I know what an accomplishment this is! There's no reason your boy can't enjoy both performance and conformation. Good for you giving it a try! Keep us posted on his progress....love the pictures! :biggrin2:

Thank you I definitely plan to do both if Khama continues to enjoy both. He’s a super clever boy and loves learning new things. Now I hope his coat starts growing before Crufts in March

Wow, I am impressed! I know very few dogs that can do both obedience and agility successfully!
Go for it, yes!!!

Love your pictures too!
